Short and clear

We only storewhat the site needs.

No analytics tool, no ad network, no Google fonts. Below you'll find every single entry MenuStudio creates on your device, what it's for and how long it stays.

  • No analytics and no audience measurement. We don't track who visits which page.
  • No ad networks, no Meta Pixel, no Google Tag Manager, no retargeting.
  • Fonts are hosted on our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts.
  • QR codes are generated in your browser. No third-party service is contacted.
  • No sharing with third parties for advertising. We don't sell data.

That's why we don't ask you anything. Under § 25(1) TDDDG, consent is only needed for anything beyond what's strictly necessary. What a site needs in order to work falls under the exemption in paragraph 2, and for that we're not even allowed to ask for permission. If that ever changes, we'll ask, and we'll ask first.

Every entry, one by one

You won't come across all of these. As a guest at a table, only the basket and language are stored; the rest belongs to the customer area.

NameTypePurposeDurationCategory
menustudio-authlocalStorageYour sign-in. Without this entry you'd be signed out every time you changed page. Set by Supabase, our provider for database and sign-in. Only created when you sign in.Until you sign outNecessary
menustudio-anonlocalStorageReserved for the connection that loads guest menus. This connection deliberately stores no session, so the entry normally stays empty.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio-geraetlocalStorageA random ID for this device, so your account can show you everywhere you're signed in and you can end sessions you don't recognise. It contains nothing about you.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio-ui-sprachelocalStorageThe language of the business area, German or English, as you set it. That way it applies straight away, even before you sign in. Contains only the code de or en.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio:wachlocalStorageWhether this device should keep the screen on while the business area is open. A sleeping screen pauses the page, and then no more order alerts ring. It's stored on the device because the iPad at the bar is plugged in and your phone isn't. Contains only “on” or “off”.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio:tonlocalStorageWhether this device should ring when a guest orders or is waiting for their table to be approved. It's stored on the device, not the account: the iPad at the bar should be loud, your phone at home shouldn't. Contains only “on” or “off”.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio-last-authlocalStorageHow you last signed in, by email or with Google, so the right option is highlighted next time. No password.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio:warenkorb:<tisch>localStorageThe dishes you picked at this table, so they aren't lost if your phone locks the screen or the page reloads. Only the selection itself: no name, no number, nothing that identifies you. The order goes to the venue, not to us. Only where ordering through the menu is available.Until you order, at most until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio-sprachelocalStorageThe language you chose on the guest menu. Otherwise you'd have to set it again with every scan.Until you change itNecessary
menustudio-einwilligunglocalStorageYour choice on this page. We have to store it, otherwise we'd ask you again on every visit. Only created when there's actually something to decide.12 monthsNecessary
menustudio:bewertung-weglocalStorageThat you dismissed the review request in the customer area, so it doesn't come back.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio:bewertung-karte-weglocalStorageThe same for the larger request shown in the dashboard after a month: dismiss it once and it won't come back.Until you clear your browser dataNecessary
menustudio:cta-dismissedsessionStorageThat you dismissed the notice bar at the bottom, so it doesn't come back during the same visit.Until the tab is closedNecessary
menustudio-werbemockupsessionStorageSuper admin only: the draft of a promotional mock-up (name, dishes, images), so the guest menu preview can read it. Cleared after download.Until the tab is closedNecessary
menustudio-vorschausessionStorageThe preview of your menu that we show you in person: what the menu should show for the 24 hours after the scan. After that, the page no longer reads it.Until the tab is closed, read for at most 24 hoursNecessary
menustudio-uebernahmelocalStorageWhich preview you want to take over, so it's still known after sign-up and the confirmation email. Deleted once it's taken over.At most 7 daysNecessary
menustudio-neuladensessionStorageA timestamp that stops the page from reloading over and over in a loop after a loading error.Until the tab is closedNecessary
menustudio-auth-repariertsessionStorageRemembers that a broken sign-in session was reset once, so this doesn't repeat endlessly.Until the tab is closedNecessary
menustudio-addon-bestellportalsessionStorageWhat you'd selected before being redirected to payment, so it still applies when you come back.Until the process is completeNecessary
menustudio-aufbau-zulocalStorageWhether you collapsed the “How your menu is structured” tip on the menu page, so it doesn't open every time. Business area only, signed-in users only.Until you delete itNecessary
menustudio-studio-markelocalStorageWhich brand was last open in the Studio (MenuStudio or AZARCO), so it's there again next time. Internal area only, signed-in users only.Until you delete itNecessary
menustudio-oauth-intent, menustudio-oauth-kein-kontosessionStorageWhether you wanted to sign in or sign up before going to Google, so you pick up in the right place when you return and any error message makes sense.Until the process is completeNecessary

You can delete all of this yourself at any time in your browser settings under "Site data". You'll then be logged out and any open basket will be gone; nothing else happens.

Services requiring consent

None at the moment.

Nothing is running that we'd need to ask your permission for. If that changes, the service will be listed here with its name, provider, purpose and duration, and you'll be asked before it loads for the first time.

Your choice

There's nothing to decide, because nothing is running that would need permission. That's why we don't ask you. If that changes, the question will appear on its own before anything loads.

You'll find more in our privacy policy. We answer questions ourselves, via Help and support.
